Rise in Refuse & Recycling Collection Contracts in Middle East

With recent route optimisation and GIS-based smartphone app project wins, Integrated Skills Ltd (ISL) is witnessing an increase in the number of tenders published in the Middle East for the collection of refuse and recycling. In the first quarter of this year, ISL has received orders in excess of £100,000 from clients in Lebanon, Oman and Bahrain for route optimisation consultancy, contractor management system upgrades and related software & services. According to Matt Polson, Director at ISL, “Many countries in the Middle East have in recent years developed European style waste management policies to divert from landfill, increase recycling rates and introduce innovative energy from waste processes. One outcome of these policies is the requirement for efficient refuse and recycling collection operations provided by private waste contractors who seek assistance from ISL to produce cost effective routes.”
