Inbound event logistics & security

ISL can resolve the dual challenge of managing congestion and security related to inbound logistics at event venues with a leading software solution that is proven in the market.

Mobiledock

Used by Harrogate Convention Centre, Mobiledock is a powerful solution that supports event venues by strengthening security protocols and operational visibility at loading bays or “docks”, where commercial access occurs.

Mobiledock regulates who enters a venue’s loading bay, delivery area or dock, preventing unauthorised vehicles and personnel from accessing restricted areas. Vehicles and people intending to arrive to loading bays/delivery areas must preregister with an issued connection code before requesting authorisation to arrive to the venue. A person arriving to the venue dock areas must then present their approved pass. The pass authorisation is automated, and all arrival and departure information recorded.

This controlled access system helps venues comply with Martyn’s Law by minimising potential security risks at key access points.

Mobiledock also streamlines inbound logistics planning & scheduling through improved visibility and verification of 3rd party carriers and delivery vehicles and minimises any waiting time on public and access roads.

Security

Mobiledock manages a site’s physical security by pre-approving all authorised carriers, drivers and contractors requesting access, and by restricting that access to those specifically approved for each individual event.

By scheduling the delivery slot’s arrival and departure times, venue managers have an audit trail of which vehicle, and which driver was on site and for how long.

When integrated with systems such as telematics, navigation and route planning, Mobiledock can confirm point of vehicle origin, check driver ID, view the planned route from origin to site and deviation against route.

Logistics

Mobiledock models the physical and operational capabilities of each individual site, for example, when a holding yard or access road is in use. Site managers can plan delivery times based on vehicle size and load to minimise the number of vehicles in holding areas as well as at the dock (delivery location). Vehicles are called to the dock from holding areas via the Mobiledock platform.

Mobiledock gets vehicles off the surrounding streets reducing local road congestion and improving safety, which is particularly important during peak periods.

Vehicular access to sites can be automated with the use of QR codes. The software solution can integrate with access control (boom gates, LPRs), contractor induction systems, safety software and others via open APIs and webhooks.

Carbon Footprint

Efficient dock management contributes towards a reduction of carbon footprint by reducing truck idle times (as well as minimising fuel use).

On Site Hotels and Shared Gray Space

A key feature of Mobiledock is the ease of access to the online platform by other physical onsite users, such as hotels, restaurants, etc. This feature ensures that any shared access roads, shared parking areas, loading bays, etc. can be securely used and all deliveries scheduled optimally. No downloading of software required by onsite third parties – just a simple sign-up and verification procedure to ensuring acceptance and full engagement.
